And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,
and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
人若自潔，脫離卑賤的事，就必作貴重的器皿，成為聖潔，合乎主用，預備行各樣的善事。
你要逃避少年的私慾，同那清心禱告主的人追求公義、信德、仁愛、和平。
惟有那愚拙無學問的辯論，總要棄絕，因為知道這等事是起爭競的。
然而主的僕人不可爭競，只要溫溫和和的待眾人，善於教導，存心忍耐，
用溫柔勸戒那抵擋的人；或者神給他們悔改的心，可以明白真道，
叫他們這已經被魔鬼任意擄去的，可以醒悟，脫離他的網羅。
希伯來書 9:14
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
何況基督藉著永遠的靈，將自己無瑕無疵獻給神，他的血豈不更能洗淨你們的心（原文作良心），除去你們的死行，使你們事奉那永生神嗎？
彼得前書 3:18

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits-
to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,
and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand-with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.
因基督也曾一次為罪受苦（有古卷：受死），就是義的代替不義的，為要引我們到神面前。按著肉體說，他被治死；按著靈性說，他復活了。
他藉這靈曾去傳道給那些在監獄裡的靈聽，
就是那從前在挪亞預備方舟、神容忍等待的時候，不信從的人。當時進入方舟，藉著水得救的不多，只有八個人。
這水所表明的洗禮，現在藉著耶穌基督復活也拯救你們；這洗禮本不在乎除掉肉體的污穢，只求在神面前有無虧的良心。
耶穌已經進入天堂，在神的右邊；眾天使和有權柄的，並有能力的，都服從了他。
啟示錄 12:11
They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."
In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me."
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.
For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
祝謝了，就擘開，說：「這是我的身體，為你們捨（有古卷：擘開）的，你們應當如此行，為的是記念我。」
飯後，也照樣拿起杯來，說：「這杯是用我的血所立的新約，你們每逢喝的時候，要如此行，為的是記念我。」
你們每逢吃這餅，喝這杯，是表明主的死，直等到他來。
所以，無論何人，不按理吃主的餅，喝主的杯，就是干犯主的身、主的血了。
人應當自己省察，然後吃這餅、喝這杯。
因為人吃喝，若不分辨是主的身體，就是吃喝自己的罪了。
因此，在你們中間有好些軟弱的與患病的，死（原文作睡）的也不少。
歌羅西書 1:20
and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
既然藉著他在十字架上所流的血成就了和平，便藉著他叫萬有，無論是地上的、天上的都與自己和好了。

希伯來書 7:27

希伯來書 10:29
How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
何況人踐踏神的兒子，將那使他成聖之約的血當作平常，又褻慢施恩的聖靈，你們想，他要受的刑罰該怎樣加重呢！
希伯來書 10:19
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,

燔祭和贖罪祭是你不喜歡的。
那時我說：神啊，我來了，為要照你的旨意行；我的事在經卷上已經記載了。
以上說：「祭物和禮物，燔祭和贖罪祭，是你不願意的，也是你不喜歡的（這都是按著律法獻的）」；
後又說：「我來了為要照你的旨意行」；可見他是除去在先的，為要立定在後的。
希伯來書 13:20
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
但願賜平安的神，就是那憑永約之血、使群羊的大牧人我主耶穌從死裡復活的神，
