歌羅西書 2:8
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.
你們要謹慎，恐怕有人用他的理學和虛空的妄言，不照著基督，乃照人間的遺傳和世上的小學就把你們擄去。
提摩太後書 4:2

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
務要傳道，無論得時不得時，總要專心；並用百般的忍耐，各樣的教訓，責備人、警戒人、勸勉人。
因為時候要到，人必厭煩純正的道理，耳朵發癢，就隨從自己的情慾，增添好些師傅，
並且掩耳不聽真道，偏向荒渺的言語。
馬太福音 15:6
they are not to 'honor their father or mother' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
他就可以不孝敬父母。』這就是你們藉著遺傳，廢了神的誡命。

Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?

(The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders.
When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles. )
So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?"
He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.' ote style="f" caller="+"> 7:7 Isaiah 29:13
You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions."
And he continued, "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
（原來法利賽人和猶太人都拘守古人的遺傳，若不仔細洗手就不吃飯；
從市上來，若不洗浴也不吃飯；還有好些別的規矩，他們歷代拘守，就是洗杯、罐、銅器等物。）
法利賽人和文士問他說：「你的門徒為什麼不照古人的遺傳，用俗手吃飯呢？」
耶穌說：「以賽亞指著你們假冒為善之人所說的預言是不錯的。如經上說：這百姓用嘴唇尊敬我，心卻遠離我。
他們將人的吩咐當做道理教導人，所以拜我也是枉然。
你們是離棄神的誡命，拘守人的遺傳」；
又說：「你們誠然是廢棄神的誡命，要守自己的遺傳。
帖撒羅尼迦後書 2:15
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
所以，弟兄們，你們要站立得穩，凡所領受的教訓，不拘是我們口傳的，是信上寫的，都要堅守。
哥林多前書 11:1

I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.
你們該效法我，像我效法基督一樣。

"Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!"
Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.'
But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is 'devoted to God,'
they are not to 'honor their father or mother' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
「你的門徒為什麼犯古人的遺傳呢？因為吃飯的時候，他們不洗手。」
耶穌回答說：「你們為什麼因著你們的遺傳犯神的誡命呢？
神說：『當孝敬父母』；又說：『咒罵父母的，必治死他。』
你們倒說：『無論何人對父母說：我所當奉給你的已經作了供獻，
他就可以不孝敬父母。』這就是你們藉著遺傳，廢了神的誡命。
哥林多前書 11:2

帖撒羅尼迦後書 3:6
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.
弟兄們，我們奉主耶穌基督的名吩咐你們，凡有弟兄不按規矩而行，不遵守從我們所受的教訓，就當遠離他。

or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God's work-which is by faith.
也不可聽從荒渺無憑的話語和無窮的家譜；這等事只生辯論，並不發明神在信上所立的章程。

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
作神和主耶穌基督僕人的雅各請散住十二個支派之人的安。
我的弟兄們，你們落在百般試煉中，都要以為大喜樂；
因為知道你們的信心經過試驗，就生忍耐。
但忍耐也當成功，使你們成全、完備，毫無缺欠。
