Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
親愛的弟兄啊，我們應當彼此相愛，因為愛是從神來的。凡有愛心的，都是由神而生，並且認識神。
沒有愛心的，就不認識神，因為神就是愛。
神差他獨生子到世間來，使我們藉著他得生，神愛我們的心在此就顯明了。

Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.
我們既知道主是可畏的，所以勸人。但我們在神面前是顯明的，盼望在你們的良心裡也是顯明的。
哥林多後書 8:21
For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.

The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.
They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.
誰能登耶和華的山？誰能站在他的聖所？
就是手潔心清、不向虛妄、起誓不懷詭詐的人。
他必蒙耶和華賜福，又蒙救他的神使他成義。

for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair;

Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:
"This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Go and tell the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, 'Will you not learn a lesson and obey my words?' declares the Lord.
'Jehonadab son of Rekab ordered his descendants not to drink wine and this command has been kept. To this day they do not drink wine, because they obey their forefather's command. But I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not obeyed me.
Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets to you. They said, "Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your ancestors." But you have not paid attention or listened to me.
The descendants of Jehonadab son of Rekab have carried out the command their forefather gave them, but these people have not obeyed me.'
"Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'Listen! I am going to bring on Judah and on everyone living in Jerusalem every disaster I pronounced against them. I spoke to them, but they did not listen; I called to them, but they did not answer.' "
耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：
「萬軍之耶和華以色列的神如此說：你去對猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民說，耶和華說：你們不受教訓，不聽從我的話嗎？
利甲的兒子約拿達所吩咐他子孫不可喝酒的話，他們已經遵守，直到今日也不喝酒，因為他們聽從先祖的吩咐。我從早起來警戒你們，你們卻不聽從我。
我從早起來，差遣我的僕人眾先知去，說：『你們各人當回頭，離開惡道，改正行為，不隨從事奉別神，就必住在我所賜給你們和你們列祖的地上。』只是你們沒有聽從我，也沒有側耳而聽。
利甲的兒子約拿達的子孫能遵守先人所吩咐他們的命，這百姓卻沒有聽從我！
因此，耶和華萬軍之神、以色列的神如此說：我要使我所說的一切災禍臨到猶大人和耶路撒冷的一切居民。因為我對他們說話，他們沒有聽從；我呼喚他們，他們沒有答應。」
但以理書 1:8

But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel,
but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you."
Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah,
"Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink.
Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see."
So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.
At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.
So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.
To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.
At the end of the time set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar.
The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king's service.
In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.
但以理卻立志不以王的膳和王所飲的酒玷污自己，所以求太監長容他不玷污自己。
神使但以理在太監長眼前蒙恩惠，受憐憫。
太監長對但以理說：「我懼怕我主我王，他已經派定你們的飲食；倘若他見你們的面貌比你們同歲的少年人肌瘦，怎麼好呢？這樣，你們就使我的頭在王那裡難保。」
但以理對太監長所派管理但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅的委辦說：
「求你試試僕人們十天，給我們素菜吃，白水喝，
然後看看我們的面貌和用王膳那少年人的面貌，就照你所看的待僕人吧！」
委辦便允准他們這件事，試看他們十天。
過了十天，見他們的面貌比用王膳的一切少年人更加俊美肥胖。
於是委辦撤去派他們用的膳，飲的酒，給他們素菜吃。
這四個少年人，神在各樣文字學問（學問：原文作智慧）上賜給他們聰明知識；但以理又明白各樣的異象和夢兆。
尼布甲尼撒王預定帶進少年人來的日期滿了，太監長就把他們帶到王面前。
王與他們談論，見少年人中無一人能比但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅，所以留他們在王面前侍立。
王考問他們一切事，就見他們的智慧聰明比通國的術士和用法術的勝過十倍。
羅馬書 9:1
I speak the truth in Christ-I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit-
我在基督裡說真話，並不謊言，有我良心被聖靈感動，給我作見證；
羅馬書 13:1
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
在上有權柄的，人人當順服他，因為沒有權柄不是出於神的。凡掌權的都是神所命的。
哥林多後書 4:2
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.
乃將那些暗昧可恥的事棄絕了；不行詭詐，不謬講神的道理，只將真理表明出來，好在神面前把自己薦與各人的良心。
歌羅西書 3:22
Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.
你們作僕人的，要凡事聽從你們肉身的主人，不要只在眼前事奉，像是討人喜歡的，總要存心誠實敬畏主。
提多書 1:7
Since an overseer manages God's household, he must be blameless-not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.
監督既是神的管家，必須無可指責，不任性，不暴躁，不因酒滋事，不打人，不貪無義之財。
提多書 1:8
Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.
樂意接待遠人，好善，莊重，公平，聖潔自持。

then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
你就明白敬畏耶和華，得以認識神。

Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Folly brings joy to one who has no sense, but whoever has understanding keeps a straight course.

The path of the righteous is level; you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth.
義人的道是正直的；你為正直的主，必修平義人的路。
彌迦書 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
世人哪，耶和華已指示你何為善。他向你所要的是什麼呢？只要你行公義，好憐憫，存謙卑的心，與你的神同行。
