Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it?
Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both calamities and good things come?
Why should the living complain when punished for their sins?
除非主命定，誰能說成就成呢？
禍福不都出於至高者的口嗎？
活人因自己的罪受罰，為何發怨言呢？
約伯記 12:13
- 16
"To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.
What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; those he imprisons cannot be released.
If he holds back the waters, there is drought; if he lets them loose, they devastate the land.
To him belong strength and insight; both deceived and deceiver are his.
在神有智慧和能力；他有謀略和知識。
他拆毀的，就不能再建造；他捆住人，便不得開釋。
他把水留住，水便枯乾；他再發出水來，水就翻地。
在他有能力和智慧，被誘惑的與誘惑人的都是屬他。
約伯記 34:10

"So listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do evil, from the Almighty to do wrong.
He repays everyone for what they have done; he brings on them what their conduct deserves.
It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice.
Who appointed him over the earth? Who put him in charge of the whole world?
If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath,
all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.
所以，你們明理的人要聽我的話。神斷不至行惡；全能者斷不至作孽。
他必按人所做的報應人，使各人照所行的得報。
神必不作惡；全能者也不偏離公平。
誰派他治理地，安定全世界呢？
他若專心為己，將靈和氣收歸自己，
凡有血氣的就必一同死亡；世人必仍歸塵土。
約伯記 37:23

The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.
Therefore, people revere him, for does he not have regard for all the wise in heart? "
論到全能者，我們不能測度；他大有能力，有公平和大義，必不苦待人。
所以，人敬畏他；凡自以為心中有智慧的人，他都不顧念。
詩篇 75:6

No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves.
It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.
因為高舉非從東，非從西，也非從南而來。
惟有神斷定；他使這人降卑，使那人升高。
