If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the Lord your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.
But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty.
「你向耶和華你的神許願，償還不可遲延；因為耶和華你的神必定向你追討，你不償還就有罪。
你若不許願，倒無罪。
約伯記 22:27
You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.
你要禱告他，他就聽你；你也要還你的願。
詩篇 50:14

So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes.
Then come, let us go up to Bethel, where I will build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone."
So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.
Then they set out, and the terror of God fell on the towns all around them so that no one pursued them.
Jacob and all the people with him came to Luz (that is, Bethel) in the land of Canaan.
There he built an altar, and he called the place El Bethel, because it was there that God revealed himself to him when he was fleeing from his brother.
Now Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, died and was buried under the oak outside Bethel. So it was named Allon Bakuth.
After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him.
God said to him, "Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.35:10Israelprobably means he struggles with God. " So he named him Israel.
And God said to him, "I am God Almighty ; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will be among your descendants.
The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you."
Then God went up from him at the place where he had talked with him.
Jacob set up a stone pillar at the place where God had talked with him, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it.
Jacob called the place where God had talked with him Bethel.
雅各就對他家中的人並一切與他同在的人說：「你們要除掉你們中間的外邦神，也要自潔，更換衣裳。
我們要起來，上伯特利去，在那裡我要築一座壇給神，就是在我遭難的日子應允我的禱告、在我行的路上保佑我的那位。」
他們就把外邦人的神像和他們耳朵上的環子交給雅各；雅各都藏在示劍那裡的橡樹底下。
他們便起行前往。神使那周圍城邑的人都甚驚懼，就不追趕雅各的眾子了。
於是雅各和一切與他同在的人到了迦南地的路斯，就是伯特利。
他在那裡築了一座壇，就給那地方起名叫伊勒伯特利（就是伯特利之神的意思）；因為他逃避他哥哥的時候，神在那裡向他顯現。
利百加的奶母底波拉死了，就葬在伯特利下邊橡樹底下；那棵樹名叫亞倫巴古。
雅各從巴但亞蘭回來，神又向他顯現，賜福與他，
且對他說：「你的名原是雅各，從今以後不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列。」這樣，他就改名叫以色列。
神又對他說：「我是全能的神；你要生養眾多，將來有一族和多國的民從你而生，又有君王從你而出。
我所賜給亞伯拉罕和以撒的地，我要賜給你與你的後裔。」
神就從那與雅各說話的地方升上去了。
雅各便在那裡立了一根石柱，在柱子上奠酒，澆油。
雅各就給那地方起名叫伯特利。
創世記 28:20

Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear
so that I return safely to my father's household, then the Lord will be my God
and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth."
雅各許願說：「神若與我同在，在我所行的路上保佑我，又給我食物吃，衣服穿，
使我平平安安的回到我父親的家，我就必以耶和華為我的神。
我所立為柱子的石頭也必作神的殿；凡你所賜給我的，我必將十分之一獻給你。」
