- 24
Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.
"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.
But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you."
耶穌在諸城中行了許多異能,那些城的人終不悔改,就在那時候責備他們,說:
「哥拉汛哪,你有禍了!伯賽大啊,你有禍了!因為在你們中間所行的異能,若行在推羅、西頓,他們早已披麻蒙灰悔改了。

Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.
And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.
Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.
"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.
Look, your house is left to you desolate.
所以我差遣先知和智慧人並文士到你們這裡來,有的你們要殺害,要釘十字架;有的你們要在會堂裡鞭打,從這城追逼到那城,
叫世上所流義人的血都歸到你們身上,從義人亞伯的血起,直到你們在殿和壇中間所殺的巴拉加的兒子撒迦利亞的血為止。
我實在告訴你們,這一切的罪都要歸到這世代了。」

"The servant who knows the master's will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.
僕人知道主人的意思,卻不預備,又不順他的意思行,那僕人必多受責打;

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.
Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
凡不接待你們、不聽你們話的人,你們離開那家,或是那城的時候,就把腳上的塵土跺下去。
我實在告訴你們,當審判的日子,所多瑪和蛾摩拉所受的,比那城還容易受呢!」

But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand,
since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke,
I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you-
when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
"Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me,
since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord.
Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke,
they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."
我呼喚,你們不肯聽從;我伸手,無人理會;
反輕棄我一切的勸戒,不肯受我的責備。
你們遭災難,我就發笑;驚恐臨到你們,我必嗤笑。
驚恐臨到你們,好像狂風;災難來到,如同暴風;急難痛苦臨到你們身上。
那時,你們必呼求我,我卻不答應,懇切的尋找我,卻尋不見。
因為,你們恨惡知識,不喜愛敬畏耶和華,
不聽我的勸戒,藐視我一切的責備,
所以必吃自結的果子,充滿自設的計謀。
愚昧人背道,必殺己身;愚頑人安逸,必害己命。
惟有聽從我的,必安然居住,得享安靜,不怕災禍。
箴言 16:33
The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.

Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.' "But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'
"Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.'
"But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'
"There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.
及至家主起來關了門,你們站在外面叩門,說:『主啊,給我們開門!』他就回答說:『我不認識你們,不曉得你們是那裡來的!』
那時,你們要說:『我們在你面前吃過喝過,你也在我們的街上教訓過人。』
他要說:『我告訴你們,我不曉得你們是那裡來的。你們這一切作惡的人,離開我去吧!』
你們要看見亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各,和眾先知都在神的國裡,你們卻被趕到外面,在那裡必要哀哭切齒了。
傳道書 9:11
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.
我又轉念:見日光之下,快跑的未必能贏;力戰的未必得勝;智慧的未必得糧食;明哲的未必得資財;靈巧的未必得喜悅。所臨到眾人的是在乎當時的機會。
何西阿書 5:6
When they go with their flocks and herds to seek the Lord, they will not find him; he has withdrawn himself from them.

"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Five of them were foolish and five were wise.
The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.
The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.
The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'
"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.
The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'
" 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'
"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
"Later the others also came. 'Lord, Lord,' they said, 'open the door for us!'
"But he replied, 'Truly I tell you, I don't know you.'
"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
"Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them.
To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.
The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more.
So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more.
But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.
"After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.
The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.'
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
"The man with two bags of gold also came. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.'
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
"Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'
"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?
Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
" 'So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags.
For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.
All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
"He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
「那時,天國好比十個童女拿著燈出去迎接新郎。
其中有五個是愚拙的,五個是聰明的。
愚拙的拿著燈,卻不預備油;
聰明的拿著燈,又預備油在器皿裡。
新郎遲延的時候,他們都打盹,睡著了。
半夜有人喊著說:『新郎來了,你們出來迎接他!』
那些童女就都起來收拾燈。
愚拙的對聰明的說:『請分點油給我們,因為我們的燈要滅了。』
聰明的回答說:『恐怕不夠你我用的;不如你們自己到賣油的那裡去買吧。』
他們去買的時候,新郎到了。那預備好了的,同他進去坐席,門就關了。
其餘的童女隨後也來了,說:『主啊,主啊,給我們開門!』
他卻回答說:『我實在告訴你們,我不認識你們。』
所以,你們要警醒;因為那日子,那時辰,你們不知道。」
「天國又好比一個人要往外國去,就叫了僕人來,把他的家業交給他們,
按著各人的才幹給他們銀子:一個給了五千,一個給了二千,一個給了一千,就往外國去了。
那領五千的隨即拿去做買賣,另外賺了五千。
那領二千的也照樣另賺了二千。
但那領一千的去掘開地,把主人的銀子埋藏了。
過了許久,那些僕人的主人來了,和他們算賬。
那領五千銀子的又帶著那另外的五千來,說:『主啊,你交給我五千銀子。請看,我又賺了五千。』
主人說:『好,你這又良善又忠心的僕人,你在不多的事上有忠心,我要把許多事派你管理;可以進來享受你主人的快樂。』
那領二千的也來,說:『主啊,你交給我二千銀子。請看,我又賺了二千。』
主人說:『好,你這又良善又忠心的僕人,你在不多的事上有忠心,我要把許多事派你管理;可以進來享受你主人的快樂。』
那領一千的也來,說:『主啊,我知道你是忍心的人,沒有種的地方要收割,沒有散的地方要聚斂,
我就害怕,去把你的一千銀子埋藏在地裡。請看,你的原銀子在這裡。』
主人回答說:『你這又惡又懶的僕人,你既知道我沒有種的地方要收割,沒有散的地方要聚斂,
就當把我的銀子放給兌換銀錢的人,到我來的時候,可以連本帶利收回。
奪過他這一千來,給那有一萬的。
因為凡有的,還要加給他,叫他有餘;沒有的,連他所有的也要奪過來。
把這無用的僕人丟在外面黑暗裡;在那裡必要哀哭切齒了。』」
「當人子在他榮耀裡,同著眾天使降臨的時候,要坐在他榮耀的寶座上。
萬民都要聚集在他面前。他要把他們分別出來,好像牧羊的分別綿羊山羊一般,
把綿羊安置在右邊,山羊在左邊。
於是王要向那右邊的說:『你們這蒙我父賜福的,可來承受那創世以來為你們所預備的國;
因為我餓了,你們給我吃,渴了,你們給我喝;我作客旅,你們留我住;
我赤身露體,你們給我穿;我病了、你們看顧我;我在監裡,你們來看我。』
義人就回答說:『主啊,我們什麼時候見你餓了,給你吃,渴了,給你喝?
什麼時候見你作客旅,留你住,或是赤身露體,給你穿?
又什麼時候見你病了,或是在監裡,來看你呢?』
王要回答說:『我實在告訴你們,這些事你們既做在我這弟兄中一個最小的身上,就是做在我身上了。』
王又要向那左邊的說:『你們這被咒詛的人,離開我!進入那為魔鬼和他的使者所預備的永火裡去!
因為我餓了,你們不給我吃,渴了,你們不給我喝;
我作客旅,你們不留我住;我赤身露體,你們不給我穿;我病了,我在監裡,你們不來看顧我。』
他們也要回答說:『主啊,我們什麼時候見你餓了,或渴了,或作客旅,或赤身露體,或病了,或在監裡,不伺候你呢?』
王要回答說:『我實在告訴你們,這些事你們既不做在我這弟兄中一個最小的身上,就是不做在我身上了。』
這些人要往永刑裡去;那些義人要往永生裡去。」
箴言 6:6

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep?
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest-
and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
懶惰人哪,你去察看螞蟻的動作就可得智慧。
螞蟻沒有元帥,沒有官長,沒有君王,
尚且在夏天預備食物,在收割時聚斂糧食。
懶惰人哪,你要睡到幾時呢?你何時睡醒呢?
再睡片時,打盹片時,抱著手躺臥片時,
你的貧窮就必如強盜速來,你的缺乏彷彿拿兵器的人來到。
哥林多後書 2:11
in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
免得撒但趁著機會勝過我們,因我們並非不曉得他的詭計。
以西結書 3:19
But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.
倘若你警戒惡人,他仍不轉離罪惡,也不離開惡行,他必死在罪孽之中,你卻救自己脫離了罪。

Jesus replied: "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.
At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.'
"But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, 'I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.'
"Another said, 'I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I'm on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.'
"Still another said, 'I just got married, so I can't come.'
"The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.'
" 'Sir,' the servant said, 'what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.'
"Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.
I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.' "
耶穌對他說:「有一人擺設大筵席,請了許多客。
到了坐席的時候,打發僕人去對所請的人說:『請來吧!樣樣都齊備了。』
眾人一口同音的推辭。頭一個說:『我買了一塊地,必須去看看。請你准我辭了。』
又有一個說:『我買了五對牛,要去試一試。請你准我辭了。』
又有一個說:『我才娶了妻,所以不能去。』
那僕人回來,把這事都告訴了主人。家主就動怒,對僕人說:『快出去,到城裡大街小巷,領那貧窮的、殘廢的、瞎眼的、瘸腿的來。』
僕人說:『主啊,你所吩咐的已經辦了,還有空座。』
主人對僕人說,『你出去到路上和籬笆那裡,勉強人進來,坐滿我的屋子。
我告訴你們,先前所請的人,沒有一個得嘗我的筵席。』」
哥林多後書 11:12
And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.
我現在所做的,後來還要做,為要斷絕那些尋機會人的機會,使他們在所誇的事上也不過與我們一樣。
創世記 24:12
Then he prayed, "Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.

If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.

I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling.
我曾給他悔改的機會,他卻不肯悔改他的淫行。
