以西結書 22:29
The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner, denying them justice.
國內眾民一味地欺壓,慣行搶奪,虧負困苦窮乏的,背理欺壓寄居的。
尼希米記 8:10
Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

因為愚頑人必說愚頑話,心裡想作罪孽,慣行褻瀆的事,說錯謬的話攻擊耶和華,使飢餓的人無食可吃,使口渴的人無水可喝。
吝嗇人所用的法子是惡的;他圖謀惡計,用謊言毀滅謙卑人;窮乏人講公理的時候,他也是這樣行。
阿摩司書 8:4
Hear this, you who trample the needy and do away with the poor of the land,

" 'If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to you, do not make them work as slaves.

Then they and their children are to be released, and they will go back to their own clans and to the property of their ancestors.
Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves.
Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God.
「你的弟兄若在你那裡漸漸窮乏,將自己賣給你,不可叫他像奴僕服事你。
他要在你那裡像雇工人和寄居的一樣,要服事你直到禧年。
到了禧年,他和他兒女要離開你,一同出去歸回本家,到他祖宗的地業那裡去。
因為他們是我的僕人,是我從埃及地領出來的,不可賣為奴僕。
不可嚴嚴地轄管他,只要敬畏你的神。

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall
因為當強暴人催逼人的時候,如同暴風直吹牆壁,你就作貧窮人的保障,作困乏人急難中的保障,作躲暴風之處,作避炎熱的陰涼。
以賽亞書 58:7
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter- when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
不是要把你的餅分給飢餓的人,將飄流的窮人接到你家中,見赤身的給他衣服遮體,顧恤自己的骨肉而不掩藏嗎?

and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.
又有一個討飯的,名叫拉撒路,渾身生瘡,被人放在財主門口,
要得財主桌子上掉下來的零碎充飢;並且狗來餂他的瘡。
後來那討飯的死了,被天使帶去放在亞伯拉罕的懷裡。財主也死了,並且埋葬了。

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
若是弟兄或是姐妹,赤身露體,又缺了日用的飲食;
你們中間有人對他們說:「平平安安的去吧!願你們穿得暖,吃得飽」;卻不給他們身體所需用的,這有什麼益處呢?
出埃及記 22:25

"If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not treat it like a business deal; charge no interest.
If you take your neighbor's cloak as a pledge, return it by sunset,
because that cloak is the only covering your neighbor has. What else can they sleep in? When they cry out to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.
「我民中有貧窮人與你同住,你若借錢給他,不可如放債的向他取利。
你即或拿鄰舍的衣服作當頭,必在日落以先歸還他;
因他只有這一件當蓋頭,是他蓋身的衣服,若是沒有,他拿什麼睡覺呢?他哀求我,我就應允,因為我是有恩惠的。
利未記 19:9

" 'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.
Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.
「在你們的地收割莊稼,不可割盡田角,也不可拾取所遺落的。
不可摘盡葡萄園的果子,也不可拾取葡萄園所掉的果子;要留給窮人和寄居的。我是耶和華你們的神。
利未記 19:15
" 'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.
「你們施行審判,不可行不義;不可偏護窮人,也不可重看有勢力的人,只要按著公義審判你的鄰舍。
利未記 25:25

" 'If one of your fellow Israelites becomes poor and sells some of their property, their nearest relative is to come and redeem what they have sold.
If, however, there is no one to redeem it for them but later on they prosper and acquire sufficient means to redeem it themselves,
they are to determine the value for the years since they sold it and refund the balance to the one to whom they sold it; they can then go back to their own property.
But if they do not acquire the means to repay, what was sold will remain in the possession of the buyer until the Year of Jubilee. It will be returned in the Jubilee, and they can then go back to their property.
你的弟兄(弟兄是指本國人說;下同)若漸漸窮乏,賣了幾分地業,他至近的親屬就要來把弟兄所賣的贖回。
若沒有能給他贖回的,他自己漸漸富足,能夠贖回,
就要算出賣地的年數,把餘剩年數的價值還那買主,自己便歸回自己的地業。
倘若不能為自己得回所賣的,仍要存在買主的手裡直到禧年;到了禧年,地業要出買主的手,自己便歸回自己的地業。
約伯記 24:7

Lacking clothes, they spend the night naked; they have nothing to cover themselves in the cold.
They are drenched by mountain rains and hug the rocks for lack of shelter.
The fatherless child is snatched from the breast; the infant of the poor is seized for a debt.
Lacking clothes, they go about naked; they carry the sheaves, but still go hungry.
終夜赤身無衣,天氣寒冷毫無遮蓋,
在山上被大雨淋濕,因沒有避身之處就挨近磐石。
又有人從母懷中搶奪孤兒,強取窮人的衣服為當頭,
使人赤身無衣,到處流行,且因飢餓扛抬禾捆,
約伯記 29:11

Whoever heard me spoke well of me, and those who saw me commended me,
because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them.
The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow's heart sing.
I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.
耳朵聽我的,就稱我有福;眼睛看我的,便稱讚我;
因我拯救哀求的困苦人和無人幫助的孤兒。
將要滅亡的為我祝福;我也使寡婦心中歡樂。
我以公義為衣服,以公平為外袍和冠冕。
