But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.
But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you."

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;
if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;
if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
按我們所得的恩賜,各有不同。或說預言,就當照著信心的程度說預言,
或作執事,就當專一執事;或作教導的,就當專一教導;
或作勸化的,就當專一勸化;施捨的,就當誠實;治理的,就當殷勤;憐憫人的,就當甘心。
哥林多前書 3:8
The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.
栽種的和澆灌的,都是一樣,但將來各人要照自己的工夫得自己的賞賜。

The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon's wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.
當審判的時候,尼尼微人要起來定這世代的罪,因為尼尼微人聽了約拿所傳的就悔改了。看哪,在這裡有一人比約拿更大!

Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished.
He said to Jacob, "Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I'm famished!" (That is why he was also called Edom. )
Jacob replied, "First sell me your birthright."
"Look, I am about to die," Esau said. "What good is the birthright to me?"
But Jacob said, "Swear to me first." So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.
Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.
有一天,雅各熬湯,以掃從田野回來累昏了。
以掃對雅各說:「我累昏了,求你把這紅湯給我喝。」因此以掃又叫以東(就是紅的意思)。
雅各說:「你今日把長子的名分賣給我吧。」

雅各說:「你今日對我起誓吧。」以掃就對他起了誓,把長子的名分賣給雅各。
於是雅各將餅和紅豆湯給了以掃,以掃吃了喝了,便起來走了。這就是以掃輕看了他長子的名分。
以西結書 18:20
The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.
惟有犯罪的,他必死亡。兒子必不擔當父親的罪孽,父親也不擔當兒子的罪孽。義人的善果必歸自己,惡人的惡報也必歸自己。

So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.
Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!
"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?
Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.
And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.
So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?'
" 'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it.
If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.' "
於是用比喻說:「一個人有一棵無花果樹栽在葡萄園裡。他來到樹前找果子,卻找不著。
就對管園的說:『看哪,我這三年來到這無花果樹前找果子,竟找不著,把他砍了吧,何必白佔地土呢!』

以後若結果子便罷,不然再把他砍了。』」
羅馬書 12:3
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
我憑著所賜我的恩對你們各人說:不要看自己過於所當看的,要照著神所分給各人信心的大小,看得合乎中道。
哥林多後書 8:21
For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge,

希伯來書 13:17
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
你們要依從那些引導你們的,且要順服;因他們為你們的靈魂時刻警醒,好像那將來交賬的人。你們要使他們交的時候有快樂,不至憂愁;若憂愁就與你們無益了。

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
信他的人,不被定罪;不信的人,罪已經定了,因為他不信神獨生子的名。
光來到世間,世人因自己的行為是惡的,不愛光,倒愛黑暗,定他們的罪就是在此。

Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

The word of the Lord came to me:
"Son of man, speak to your people and say to them: 'When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman,
and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people,
then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head.
Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves.
But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone's life, that person's life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.'
"Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.
When I say to the wicked, 'You wicked person, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.
But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.
"Son of man, say to the Israelites, 'This is what you are saying: "Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?" '
Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?'
"Therefore, son of man, say to your people, 'If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person's former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked repents, that person's former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous.'
If I tell a righteous person that they will surely live, but then they trust in their righteousness and do evil, none of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered; they will die for the evil they have done.
And if I say to a wicked person, 'You will surely die,' but they then turn away from their sin and do what is just and right-
if they give back what they took in pledge for a loan, return what they have stolen, follow the decrees that give life, and do no evil-that person will surely live; they will not die.
None of the sins that person has committed will be remembered against them. They have done what is just and right; they will surely live.
"Yet your people say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' But it is their way that is not just.
If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, they will die for it.
And if a wicked person turns away from their wickedness and does what is just and right, they will live by doing so.
耶和華的話臨到我說:
「人子啊,你要告訴本國的子民說:我使刀劍臨到哪一國,那一國的民從他們中間選立一人為守望的。
他見刀劍臨到那地,若吹角警戒眾民,
凡聽見角聲不受警戒的,刀劍若來除滅了他,他的罪(原文作血)就必歸到自己的頭上。
他聽見角聲,不受警戒,他的罪必歸到自己的身上;他若受警戒,便是救了自己的性命。
倘若守望的人見刀劍臨到,不吹角,以致民不受警戒,刀劍來殺了他們中間的一個人,他雖然死在罪孽之中,我卻要向守望的人討他喪命的罪(原文作血)。
「人子啊,我照樣立你作以色列家守望的人。所以你要聽我口中的話,替我警戒他們。
我對惡人說:『惡人哪,你必要死!』你以西結若不開口警戒惡人,使他離開所行的道,這惡人必死在罪孽之中,我卻要向你討他喪命的罪(原文作血)。
倘若你警戒惡人轉離所行的道,他仍不轉離,他必死在罪孽之中,你卻救自己脫離了罪。」
「人子啊,你要對以色列家說:『你們常說:我們的過犯罪惡在我們身上,我們必因此消滅,怎能存活呢?』
你對他們說,主耶和華說:我指著我的永生起誓,我斷不喜悅惡人死亡,惟喜悅惡人轉離所行的道而活。以色列家啊,你們轉回,轉回吧!離開惡道,何必死亡呢?
人子啊,你要對本國的人民說:義人的義,在犯罪之日不能救他;至於惡人的惡,在他轉離惡行之日也不能使他傾倒;義人在犯罪之日也不能因他的義存活。
我對義人說:『你必定存活!』他若倚靠他的義而作罪孽,他所行的義都不被記念。他必因所作的罪孽死亡。
再者,我對惡人說:『你必定死亡!』他若轉離他的罪,行正直與合理的事:
還人的當頭和所搶奪的,遵行生命的律例,不作罪孽,他必定存活,不至死亡。
他所犯的一切罪必不被記念。他行了正直與合理的事,必定存活。
「你本國的子民還說:『主的道不公平。』其實他們的道不公平。
義人轉離他的義而作罪孽,就必因此死亡。
惡人轉離他的惡,行正直與合理的事,就必因此存活。
馬太福音 25:14

"Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them.
To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.
The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more.
So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more.
But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.
"After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.
The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.'
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
"The man with two bags of gold also came. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.'
"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
"Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'
"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?
Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
" 'So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags.
For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
「天國又好比一個人要往外國去,就叫了僕人來,把他的家業交給他們,
按著各人的才幹給他們銀子:一個給了五千,一個給了二千,一個給了一千,就往外國去了。
那領五千的隨即拿去做買賣,另外賺了五千。

主人說:『好,你這又良善又忠心的僕人,你在不多的事上有忠心,我要把許多事派你管理;可以進來享受你主人的快樂。』
那領一千的也來,說:『主啊,我知道你是忍心的人,沒有種的地方要收割,沒有散的地方要聚斂,
我就害怕,去把你的一千銀子埋藏在地裡。請看,你的原銀子在這裡。』
主人回答說:『你這又惡又懶的僕人,你既知道我沒有種的地方要收割,沒有散的地方要聚斂,
就當把我的銀子放給兌換銀錢的人,到我來的時候,可以連本帶利收回。
奪過他這一千來,給那有一萬的。
因為凡有的,還要加給他,叫他有餘;沒有的,連他所有的也要奪過來。
把這無用的僕人丟在外面黑暗裡;在那裡必要哀哭切齒了。』」

And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them."

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury.
He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.
"Truly I tell you," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."

There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.
Whoever hates me hates my Father as well.
If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
這樣看來,我們各人必要將自己的事在神面前說明。
約翰一書 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
我們若認自己的罪,神是信實的,是公義的,必要赦免我們的罪,洗淨我們一切的不義。

The word of the Lord came to me:
"What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: " 'The parents eat sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge'?
"As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel.
For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child-both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.
"Suppose there is a righteous man who does what is just and right.
He does not eat at the mountain shrines or look to the idols of Israel. He does not defile his neighbor's wife or have sexual relations with a woman during her period.
He does not oppress anyone, but returns what he took in pledge for a loan. He does not commit robbery but gives his food to the hungry and provides clothing for the naked.
He does not lend to them at interest or take a profit from them. He withholds his hand from doing wrong and judges fairly between two parties.
He follows my decrees and faithfully keeps my laws. That man is righteous; he will surely live, declares the Sovereign Lord.
"Suppose he has a violent son, who sheds blood or does any of these other things
耶和華的話又臨到我說:
「你們在以色列地怎麼用這俗語說『父親吃了酸葡萄,兒子的牙酸倒了』呢?」
主耶和華說:「我指著我的永生起誓,你們在以色列中,必不再有用這俗語的因由。
看哪,世人都是屬我的;為父的怎樣屬我,為子的也照樣屬我;犯罪的,他必死亡。
「人若是公義,且行正直與合理的事:
未曾在山上吃過祭偶像之物,未曾仰望以色列家的偶像,未曾玷污鄰舍的妻,未曾在婦人的經期內親近他,
未曾虧負人,乃將欠債之人的當頭還給他;未曾搶奪人的物件,卻將食物給飢餓的人吃,將衣服給赤身的人穿;
未曾向借錢的弟兄取利,也未曾向借糧的弟兄多要,縮手不作罪孽,在兩人之間,按至理判斷;
遵行我的律例,謹守我的典章,按誠實行事這人是公義的,必定存活。這是主耶和華說的。
「他若生一個兒子,作強盜,是流人血的,不行以上所說之善,反行其中之惡,乃在山上吃過祭偶像之物,並玷污鄰舍的妻,
以西結書 18:12

He oppresses the poor and needy. He commits robbery. He does not return what he took in pledge. He looks to the idols. He does detestable things.
He lends at interest and takes a profit. Will such a man live? He will not! Because he has done all these detestable things, he is to be put to death; his blood will be on his own head.
"But suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father commits, and though he sees them, he does not do such things:
"He does not eat at the mountain shrines or look to the idols of Israel. He does not defile his neighbor's wife.
He does not oppress anyone or require a pledge for a loan. He does not commit robbery but gives his food to the hungry and provides clothing for the naked.
He withholds his hand from mistreating the poor and takes no interest or profit from them. He keeps my laws and follows my decrees. He will not die for his father's sin; he will surely live.
But his father will die for his own sin, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was wrong among his people.
"Yet you ask, 'Why does the son not share the guilt of his father?' Since the son has done what is just and right and has been careful to keep all my decrees, he will surely live.
The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.
"But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.
None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteous things they have done, they will live.
Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
"But if a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die.
"Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Hear, you Israelites: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin, they will die for it; because of the sin they have committed they will die.
But if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, they will save their life.
Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die.
Yet the Israelites say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Are my ways unjust, people of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
"Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
虧負困苦和窮乏的人,搶奪人的物,未曾將當頭還給人,仰望偶像,並行可憎的事,
向借錢的弟兄取利,向借糧的弟兄多要,這人豈能存活呢?他必不能存活。他行這一切可憎的事,必要死亡,他的罪(原文作血)必歸到他身上。
「他若生一個兒子,見父親所犯的一切罪便懼怕(有古卷:思量),不照樣去做;
未曾在山上吃過祭偶像之物,未曾仰望以色列家的偶像,未曾玷污鄰舍的妻,
未曾虧負人,未曾取人的當頭,未曾搶奪人的物件,卻將食物給飢餓的人吃,將衣服給赤身的人穿,
縮手不害貧窮人,未曾向借錢的弟兄取利,也未曾向借糧的弟兄多要;他順從我的典章,遵行我的律例,就不因父親的罪孽死亡,定要存活。
至於他父親;因為欺人太甚,搶奪弟兄,在本國的民中行不善,他必因自己的罪孽死亡。
「你們還說:『兒子為何不擔當父親的罪孽呢?』兒子行正直與合理的事,謹守遵行我的一切律例,他必定存活。
惟有犯罪的,他必死亡。兒子必不擔當父親的罪孽,父親也不擔當兒子的罪孽。義人的善果必歸自己,惡人的惡報也必歸自己。
「惡人若回頭離開所做的一切罪惡,謹守我一切的律例,行正直與合理的事,他必定存活,不至死亡。
他所犯的一切罪過都不被記念,因所行的義,他必存活。
主耶和華說:惡人死亡,豈是我喜悅的嗎?不是喜悅他回頭離開所行的道存活嗎?
義人若轉離義行而作罪孽,照著惡人所行一切可憎的事而行,他豈能存活嗎?他所行的一切義都不被記念;他必因所犯的罪、所行的惡死亡。
「你們還說:『主的道不公平!』以色列家啊,你們當聽,我的道豈不公平嗎?你們的道豈不是不公平嗎?
義人若轉離義行而作罪孽死亡,他是因所作的罪孽死亡。
再者,惡人若回頭離開所行的惡,行正直與合理的事,他必將性命救活了。
因為他思量,回頭離開所犯的一切罪過,必定存活,不至死亡。
以色列家還說:『主的道不公平!』以色列家啊,我的道豈不公平嗎?你們的道豈不是不公平嗎?」
所以主耶和華說:「以色列家啊,我必按你們各人所行的審判你們。你們當回頭離開所犯的一切罪過。這樣,罪孽必不使你們敗亡。
馬太福音 10:11

Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave.
As you enter the home, give it your greeting.
If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.
Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.
你們無論進哪一城,哪一村,要打聽那裡誰是好人,就住在他家,直住到走的時候。
進他家裡去,要請他的安。
那家若配得平安,你們所求的平安就必臨到那家;若不配得,你們所求的平安仍歸你們。
凡不接待你們、不聽你們話的人,你們離開那家,或是那城的時候,就把腳上的塵土跺下去。
我實在告訴你們,當審判的日子,所多瑪和蛾摩拉所受的,比那城還容易受呢!」

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!"
All the people answered, "His blood is on us and on our children!"
彼拉多見說也無濟於事,反要生亂,就拿水在眾人面前洗手,說:「流這義人的血,罪不在我,你們承當吧。」
眾人都回答說:「他的血歸到我們和我們的子孫身上。」
哥林多前書 3:13

their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work.
If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.
If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved-even though only as one escaping through the flames.
各人的工程必然顯露,因為那日子要將他表明出來,有火發現;這火要試驗各人的工程怎樣。
人在那根基上所建造的工程若存得住,他就要得賞賜。
人的工程若被燒了,他就要受虧損,自己卻要得救;雖然得救,乃像從火裡經過的一樣。
