Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything-all she had to live on."

"He told him, 'Take your bill and make it eight hundred.' "The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.

羅馬書 13:1 - 7
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

哥林多前書 8:9 - 13
Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol's temple, won't that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols? So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.

Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own. At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in your towns, so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
「你要把你撒種所產的,就是你田地每年所出的,十分取一分; 又要把你的五穀、新酒、和油的十分之一,並牛群羊群中頭生的,吃在耶和華你神面前,就是他所選擇要立為他名的居所。這樣,你可以學習時常敬畏耶和華你的神。 當耶和華你神賜福與你的時候,耶和華你神所選擇要立為他名的地方若離你太遠,那路也太長,使你不能把這物帶到那裡去, 你就可以換成銀子,將銀子包起來,拿在手中,往耶和華你神所要選擇的地方去。 你用這銀子,隨心所欲,或買牛羊,或買清酒濃酒,凡你心所想的都可以買;你和你的家屬在耶和華你神的面前吃喝快樂。 「住在你城裡的利未人,你不可丟棄他,因為他在你們中間無分無業。 每逢三年的末一年,你要將本年的土產十分之一都取出來,積存在你的城中。 在你城裡無分無業的利未人,和你城裡寄居的,並孤兒寡婦,都可以來,吃得飽足。這樣,耶和華你的神必在你手裡所辦的一切事上賜福與你。」

以賽亞書 1:1 - 31
The vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah son of Amoz saw during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth! For the Lord has spoken: "I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner's manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand." Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him. Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness- only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with olive oil. Your country is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your fields are being stripped by foreigners right before you, laid waste as when overthrown by strangers. Daughter Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a cucumber field, like a city under siege. Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah. Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the instruction of our God, you people of Gomorrah! "The multitude of your sacrifices- what are they to me?" says the Lord. "I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. When you come to appear before me, who has asked this of you, this trampling of my courts? Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations- I cannot bear your worthless assemblies. Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals I hate with all my being. They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood! Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. "Come now, let us settle the matter," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. See how the faithful city has become a prostitute! She once was full of justice; righteousness used to dwell in her- but now murderers! Your silver has become dross, your choice wine is diluted with water. Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow's case does not come before them. Therefore the Lord, the Lord Almighty, the Mighty One of Israel, declares: "Ah! I will vent my wrath on my foes and avenge myself on my enemies. I will turn my hand against you; I will thoroughly purge away your dross and remove all your impurities. I will restore your leaders as in days of old, your rulers as at the beginning. Afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City." Zion will be delivered with justice, her penitent ones with righteousness. But rebels and sinners will both be broken, and those who forsake the Lord will perish. "You will be ashamed because of the sacred oaks in which you have delighted; you will be disgraced because of the gardens that you have chosen. You will be like an oak with fading leaves, like a garden without water. The mighty man will become tinder and his work a spark; both will burn together, with no one to quench the fire."
當烏西雅、約坦、亞哈斯、希西家作猶大王的時候,亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞得默示,論到猶大和耶路撒冷。 天哪,要聽!地啊,側耳而聽!因為耶和華說:我養育兒女,將他們養大,他們竟悖逆我。 牛認識主人,驢認識主人的槽,以色列卻不認識;我的民卻不留意。 嗐!犯罪的國民,擔著罪孽的百姓;行惡的種類,敗壞的兒女!他們離棄耶和華,藐視以色列的聖者,與他生疏,往後退步。 你們為什麼屢次悖逆,還要受責打嗎?你們已經滿頭疼痛,全心發昏。 從腳掌到頭頂,沒有一處完全的,盡是傷口、青腫,與新打的傷痕,都沒有收口,沒有纏裹,也沒有用膏滋潤。 你們的地土已經荒涼;你們的城邑被火焚毀。你們的田地在你們眼前為外邦人所侵吞,既被外邦人傾覆就成為荒涼。 僅存錫安城(原文作女子),好像葡萄園的草棚,瓜田的茅屋,被圍困的城邑。 若不是萬軍之耶和華給我們稍留餘種,我們早已像所多瑪、蛾摩拉的樣子了。 你們這所多瑪的官長啊,要聽耶和華的話!你們這蛾摩拉的百姓啊,要側耳聽我們神的訓誨! 耶和華說:你們所獻的許多祭物與我何益呢?公綿羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂油,我已經夠了;公牛的血,羊羔的血,公山羊的血,我都不喜悅。 你們來朝見我,誰向你們討這些,使你們踐踏我的院宇呢? 你們不要再獻虛浮的供物。香品是我所憎惡的;月朔和安息日,並宣召的大會,也是我所憎惡的;作罪孽,又守嚴肅會,我也不能容忍。 你們的月朔和節期,我心裡恨惡,我都以為麻煩;我擔當,便不耐煩。 你們舉手禱告,我必遮眼不看;就是你們多多的祈禱,我也不聽。你們的手都滿了殺人的血。 你們要洗濯、自潔,從我眼前除掉你們的惡行,要止住作惡, 學習行善,尋求公平,解救受欺壓的;給孤兒伸冤,為寡婦辨屈。 耶和華說:你們來,我們彼此辯論。你們的罪雖像硃紅,必變成雪白;雖紅如丹顏,必白如羊毛。 你們若甘心聽從,必吃地上的美物, 若不聽從,反倒悖逆,必被刀劍吞滅。這是耶和華親口說的。 可歎,忠信的城變為妓女!從前充滿了公平,公義居在其中,現今卻有兇手居住。 你的銀子變為渣滓;你的酒用水攙對。 你的官長居心悖逆,與盜賊作伴,各都喜愛賄賂,追求贓私。他們不為孤兒伸冤;寡婦的案件也不得呈到他們面前。 因此,主萬軍之耶和華、以色列的大能者說:哎!我要向我的對頭雪恨,向我的敵人報仇。 我必反手加在你身上,煉盡你的渣滓,除淨你的雜質。 我也必復還你的審判官,像起初一樣,復還你的謀士,像起先一般。然後,你必稱為公義之城,忠信之邑。 錫安必因公平得蒙救贖;其中歸正的人必因公義得蒙救贖。 但悖逆的和犯罪的必一同敗亡;離棄耶和華的必致消滅。 那等人必因你們所喜愛的橡樹抱愧;你們必因所選擇的園子蒙羞。 因為,你們必如葉子枯乾的橡樹,好像無水澆灌的園子。 有權勢的必如麻瓤;他的工作好像火星,都要一同焚毀,無人撲滅。

使徒行傳 15:28 - 29
It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.
因為聖靈和我們定意不將別的重擔放在你們身上;惟有幾件事是不可少的, 就是禁戒祭偶像的物和血,並勒死的牲畜和姦淫。這幾件你們若能自己禁戒不犯就好了。願你們平安!」

But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
若有疑心而吃的,就必有罪,因為他吃不是出於信心。凡不出於信心的都是罪。

歌羅西書 2:20 - 23
Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
你們若是與基督同死,脫離了世上的小學,為什麼仍像在世俗中活著、服從那「不可拿、不可嘗、不可摸」等類的規條呢? 這都是照人所吩咐、所教導的。說到這一切,正用的時候就都敗壞了。 這些規條使人徒有智慧之名,用私意崇拜,自表謙卑,苦待己身,其實在克制肉體的情慾上是毫無功效。
