約伯記 32:21 - 22
I will show no partiality, nor will I flatter anyone; for if I were skilled in flattery, my Maker would soon take me away.
我必不看人的情面，也不奉承人。我不曉得奉承；若奉承，造我的主必快快除滅我。

箴言 29:5
Those who flatter their neighbors are spreading nets for their feet.
諂媚鄰舍的，就是設網羅絆他的腳。

箴言 26:24 - 28
Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbor deceit. Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts. Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them. A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin.
怨恨人的，用嘴粉飾，心裡卻藏著詭詐；他用甜言蜜語，你不可信他，因為他心中有七樣可憎惡的。他雖用詭詐遮掩自己的怨恨，他的邪惡必在會中顯露。挖陷坑的，自己必掉在其中；滾石頭的，石頭必反滾在他身上。虛謊的舌恨他所壓傷的人；諂媚的口敗壞人的事。

箴言 27:6
Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.
朋友加的傷痕出於忠誠；仇敵連連親嘴卻是多餘。

箴言 28:23
Whoever rebukes a person will in the end gain favor rather than one who has a flattering tongue.
責備人的，後來蒙人喜悅，多於那用舌頭諂媚人的。

猶大書 1:16
These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.
這些人是私下議論，常發怨言的，隨從自己的情慾而行，口中說誇大的話，為得便宜諂媚人。

以西結書 12:24
For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations among the people of Israel.
從此，在以色列家中必不再有虛假的異象和奉承的占卜。
