馬太福音 16:26
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
人若賺得全世界，賠上自己的生命，有什麼益處呢？人還能拿什麼換生命呢？

約翰一書 2:17
The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
這世界和其上的情慾都要過去，惟獨遵行神旨意的，是永遠常存。

約伯記 30:15
Terrors overwhelm me; my dignity is driven away as by the wind, my safety vanishes like a cloud.
驚恐臨到我，驅逐我的尊榮如風；我的福祿如雲過去。

傳道書 1:2
"Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless."
傳道者說：虛空的虛空，虛空的虛空，凡事都是虛空。

耶利米書 4:23 - 26
I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone. I looked at the mountains, and they were quaking; all the hills were swaying. I looked, and there were no people; every bird in the sky had flown away. I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert; all its towns lay in ruins before the Lord, before his fierce anger.
先知說：我觀看地，不料，地是空虛混沌；我觀看天，天也無光。我觀看大山，不料，盡都震動，小山也都搖來搖去。我觀看，不料，無人；空中的飛鳥也都躲避。我觀看，不料，肥田變為荒地；一切城邑在耶和華面前，因他的烈怒都被拆毀。

彌迦書 2:10
Get up, go away! For this is not your resting place, because it is defiled, it is ruined, beyond all remedy.
你們起來去吧！這不是你們安息之所；因為污穢使人（或作：地）毀滅，而且大大毀滅。

哥林多前書 7:29 - 31
What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.
弟兄們，我對你們說，時候減少了。從此以後，那有妻子的，要像沒有妻子；哀哭的，要像不哀哭；快樂的，要像不快樂；置買的，要像無有所得；用世物的，要像不用世物，因為這世界的樣子將要過去了。
