歌羅西書 3:8
But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
但現在你們要棄絕這一切的事，以及惱恨、忿怒、惡毒（或作：陰毒）、毀謗，並口中污穢的言語。

詩篇 120:2 - 3
Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. What will he do to you, and what more besides, you deceitful tongue?
耶和華啊，求你救我脫離說謊的嘴唇和詭詐的舌頭！詭詐的舌頭啊，要給你什麼呢？要拿什麼加給你呢？

箴言 13:3
Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
謹守口的，得保生命；大張嘴的，必致敗亡。

約伯記 27:4
my lips will not say anything wicked, and my tongue will not utter lies.
我的嘴決不說非義之言；我的舌也不說詭詐之語。

箴言 14:29
Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.
不輕易發怒的，大有聰明；性情暴躁的，大顯愚妄。

箴言 10:19
Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.
多言多語難免有過；禁止嘴唇是有智慧。

箴言 12:16
Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
愚妄人的惱怒立時顯露；通達人能忍辱藏羞。

傳道書 7:9
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
你不要心裡急躁惱怒，因為惱怒存在愚昧人的懷中。

雅各書 1:19 - 20
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
我親愛的弟兄們，這是你們所知道的，但你們各人要快快的聽，慢慢的說，慢慢的動怒，因為人的怒氣並不成就神的義。

雅各書 3:5
Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
這樣，舌頭在百體裡也是最小的，卻能說大話。看哪，最小的火能點著最大的樹林。

詩篇 41:3
The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.
他病重在榻，耶和華必扶持他；他在病中，你必給他鋪床。

箴言 15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
回答柔和，使怒消退；言語暴戾，觸動怒氣。

以弗所書 4:26
"In your anger do not sin" : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
生氣卻不要犯罪；不可含怒到日落，

約伯記 5:2
Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple.
忿怒害死愚妄人；嫉妒殺死癡迷人。
