詩篇 90:12
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
求你指教我們怎樣數算自己的日子，好叫我們得著智慧的心。

約伯記 20:8
Like a dream he flies away, no more to be found, banished like a vision of the night.
他必飛去如夢，不再尋見，速被趕去，如夜間的異象。

詩篇 90:10
Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
我們一生的年日是七十歲，若是強壯可到八十歲；但其中所矜誇的不過是勞苦愁煩，轉眼成空，我們便如飛而去。

約伯記 9:26
They skim past like boats of papyrus, like eagles swooping down on their prey.
我的日子過去如快船，如急落抓食的鷹。

詩篇 39:4 - 5
"Show me, Lord, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.
耶和華啊，求你叫我曉得我身之終！我的壽數幾何？叫我知道我的生命不長！你使我的年日窄如手掌；我一生的年數，在你面前如同無有。各人最穩妥的時候，真是全然虛幻。（細拉）

以賽亞書 40:6 - 8
A voice says, "Cry out." And I said, "What shall I cry?" "All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever."
有人聲說：你喊叫吧！有一個說：我喊叫什麼呢？說：凡有血氣的盡都如草；他的美容都像野地的花。草必枯乾，花必凋殘，因為耶和華的氣吹在其上；百姓誠然是草。草必枯乾，花必凋殘，惟有我們神的話必永遠立定。

約伯記 14:1 - 2
"Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble. They spring up like flowers and wither away; like fleeting shadows, they do not endure.
人為婦人所生，日子短少，多有患難；出來如花，又被割下，飛去如影，不能存留。
