申命記 10:12

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
「以色列啊，現在耶和華你神向你所要的是什麼呢？只要你敬畏耶和華你的神，遵行他的道，愛他，盡心盡性事奉他，
遵守他的誡命律例，就是我今日所吩咐你的，為要叫你得福。
申命記 8:2

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.
Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.
Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.
你也要記念耶和華你的神在曠野引導你這四十年，是要苦煉你，試驗你，要知道你心內如何，肯守他的誡命不肯。
他苦煉你，任你飢餓，將你和你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，使你知道，人活著不是單靠食物，乃是靠耶和華口裡所出的一切話。
這四十年，你的衣服沒有穿破，你的腳也沒有腫。
你當心裡思想，耶和華你神管教你，好像人管教兒子一樣。
你要謹守耶和華你神的誡命，遵行他的道，敬畏他。
傳道書 12:13
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
這些事都已聽見了，總意就是：敬畏神，謹守他的誡命，這是人所當盡的本分（或作：這是眾人的本分）。
利未記 20:22

" 'Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.
You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
But I said to you, "You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey." I am the Lord your God, who has set you apart from the nations.
" 'You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground-those that I have set apart as unclean for you.
You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.
「所以，你們要謹守遵行我一切的律例典章，免得我領你們去住的那地把你們吐出。
我在你們面前所逐出的國民，你們不可隨從他們的風俗；因為他們行了這一切的事，所以我厭惡他們。
但我對你們說過，你們要承受他們的地，就是我要賜給你們為業、流奶與蜜之地。我是耶和華你們的神，使你們與萬民有分別的。
所以，你們要把潔淨和不潔淨的禽獸分別出來；不可因我給你們分為不潔淨的禽獸，或是滋生在地上的活物，使自己成為可憎惡的。
你們要歸我為聖，因為我耶和華是聖的，並叫你們與萬民有分別，使你們作我的民。
