Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
你們作父親的，不要惹兒女的氣，恐怕他們失了志氣。

箴言 22:6
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
教養孩童，使他走當行的道，就是到老他也不偏離。

創世記 18:19
For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."
我眷顧他，為要叫他吩咐他的眾子和他的眷屬遵守我的道，秉公行義，使我所應許亞伯拉罕的話都成就了。」

箴言 29:17
Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire.
管教你的兒子，他就使你得安息，也必使你心裡喜樂。

以弗所書 6:4
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
你們作父親的，不要惹兒女的氣，只要照著主的教訓和警戒養育他們。

出埃及記 13:8
On that day tell your son, 'I do this because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.'
當那日，你要告訴你的兒子說：『這是因耶和華在我出埃及的時候為我所行的事。

詩篇 78:4 - 7
We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.
我們不將這些事向他們的子孫隱瞞，要將耶和華的美德和他的能力，並他奇妙的作為，述說給後代聽。因為，他在雅各中立法度，在以色列中設律法；是他吩咐我們祖宗要傳給子孫的，使將要生的後代子孫可以曉得；他們也要起來告訴他們的子孫，好叫他們仰望神，不忘記神的作為，惟要守他的命令。

申命記 4:9 - 10
Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me, "Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children."
「你只要謹慎，殷勤保守你的心靈，免得忘記你親眼所看見的事，又免得你一生、這事離開你的心；總要傳給你的子子孫孫。你在何烈山站在耶和華你神面前的那日，耶和華對我說：『你為我招聚百姓，我要叫他們聽見我的話，使他們存活在世的日子，可以學習敬畏我，又可以教訓兒女這樣行。』
