If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
- 25
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
- 10
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family, and do not go to your relative's house when disaster strikes you- better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away.
- 15
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command.
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
- 27
Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered,
or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared. Saying 4
Do not be one who shakes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts;
if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you. Saying 5
好生氣的人,不可與他結交;暴怒的人,不可與他來往;
- 12
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
- 14
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command.

Stay with me; don't be afraid. The man who wants to kill you is trying to kill me too. You will be safe with me."

- 14
If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide.
But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend,
with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers.
This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me."

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister 5:22Some manuscripts brother or sister without cause will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,'5:22An Aramaic term of contempt is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.
Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family, and do not go to your relative's house when disaster strikes you- better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away.
- 6
Better is open rebuke than hidden love.
Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
