"Honor your father and mother"-which is the first commandment with a promise-
"so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
「要孝敬父母，使你得福，在世長壽。」這是第一條帶應許的誡命。
箴言 1:8

Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.

"The eye that mocks a father, that scorns an aged mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures.

箴言 6:20

My son, keep your father's command and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
Bind them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck.
When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.
我兒，要謹守你父親的誡命；不可離棄你母親的法則（或作：指教），
要常繫在你心上，掛在你項上。
你行走，他必引導你；你躺臥，他必保守你；你睡醒，他必與你談論。
提摩太前書 5:4
But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.
若寡婦有兒女，或有孫子孫女，便叫他們先在自己家中學著行孝，報答親恩，因為這在神面前是可悅納的。

He named him Noah and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed."
