詩篇 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
（所羅門上行之詩。）若不是耶和華建造房屋，建造的人就枉然勞力；若不是耶和華看守城池，看守的人就枉然警醒。
哥林多前書 3:10
By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.
我照神所給我的恩，好像一個聰明的工頭，立好了根基，有別人在上面建造；只是各人要謹慎怎樣在上面建造。
馬太福音 16:18
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
我還告訴你，你是彼得，我要把我的教會建造在這磐石上；陰間的權柄（權柄：原文作門），不能勝過他。

"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?
As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like.
They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
「你們為什麼稱呼我『主啊，主啊，』卻不遵我的話行呢？
凡到我這裡來，聽見我的話就去行的，我要告訴你們他像什麼人：
他像一個人蓋房子，深深的挖地，把根基安在磐石上；到發大水的時候，水沖那房子，房子總不能搖動，因為根基立在磐石上（有古卷：因為蓋造得好）。
惟有聽見不去行的，就像一個人在土地上蓋房子，沒有根基；水一沖，隨即倒塌了，並且那房子壞的很大。」
以西結書 36:10
and I will cause many people to live on you-yes, all of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
我必使以色列全家的人數在你上面增多，城邑有人居住，荒場再被建造。
創世記 11:4
Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth."
他們說：「來吧！我們要建造一座城和一座塔，塔頂通天，為要傳揚我們的名，免得我們分散在全地上。」

詩篇 127:5
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
箭袋充滿的人便為有福；他們在城門口和仇敵說話的時候，必不至於羞愧。
