Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath.
He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return.
但他有憐憫,赦免他們的罪孽,不滅絕他們,而且屢次消他的怒氣,不發盡他的忿怒。
他想到他們不過是血氣,是一陣去而不返的風。

For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath.

The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the Lord's musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, "His love endures forever." 祭司侍立,各供其職;利未人也拿著耶和華的樂器,就是大衛王造出來、藉利未人頌讚耶和華的。(他的慈愛永遠長存!)祭司在眾人面前吹號,以色列人都站立。

In that day you will say: "I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me.

因我與你同在,要拯救你,也要將所趕散你到的那些國滅絕淨盡,卻不將你滅絕淨盡,倒要從寬懲治你,萬不能不罰你(不罰你:或作以你為無罪)。這是耶和華說的。

Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
"But if a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die.
"Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Hear, you Israelites: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin, they will die for it; because of the sin they have committed they will die.
But if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, they will save their life.
主耶和華說:惡人死亡,豈是我喜悅的嗎?不是喜悅他回頭離開所行的道存活嗎?
義人若轉離義行而作罪孽,照著惡人所行一切可憎的事而行,他豈能存活嗎?他所行的一切義都不被記念;他必因所犯的罪、所行的惡死亡。
「你們還說:『主的道不公平!』以色列家啊,你們當聽,我的道豈不公平嗎?你們的道豈不是不公平嗎?
義人若轉離義行而作罪孽死亡,他是因所作的罪孽死亡。
再者,惡人若回頭離開所行的惡,行正直與合理的事,他必將性命救活了。
以西結書 20:42
Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, the land I had sworn with uplifted hand to give to your ancestors.
我領你們進入以色列地,就是我起誓應許賜給你們列祖之地,那時你們就知道我是耶和華。

You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;

as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
耶和華有憐憫,有恩典,不輕易發怒,且有豐盛的慈愛。
他不長久責備,也不永遠懷怒。
他沒有按我們的罪過待我們,也沒有照我們的罪孽報應我們。
天離地何等的高,他的慈愛向敬畏他的人也是何等的大!
東離西有多遠,他叫我們的過犯離我們也有多遠!
父親怎樣憐恤他的兒女,耶和華也怎樣憐恤敬畏他的人!
因為他知道我們的本體,思念我們不過是塵土。
以賽亞書 6:7
With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."
將炭沾我的口,說:「看哪,這炭沾了你的嘴,你的罪孽便除掉,你的罪惡就赦免了。」

Yet there will be some survivors-sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought on Jerusalem-every disaster I have brought on it.
